Piece of Ocean captures a natural water phenomenon, frozen as a moment in time and designed to overwhelm the viewer with the same intensity, as if seeing the wonder in real-time. Gever was influenced by the English Professor Albert Gelpi who said, “The physical conformation and psychological effect of the sublime landscape dwarfs the physical presence of the beholder so overwhelmingly that he or she feels psychologically reduced to the point of annihilation or absorption into the awesomeness of what he or she beholds.”
