MOLECULE SHOE
-
Proving that advancing technologies can be used to create wearable, practical everyday items, the 3D printed capsule collection of footwear consists of various pixelated platform shoes. The shoes were grown in the digital environment one pixel at a time, using a mathematical model that generates cellular structures called Game of Life, devised by British mathematician John Conway. Manufactured using Adobe digital design software along with Stratasys’ Objet500 Connex3 Color, Multi-material 3D Printer, each shoe renders the same system with unique structural configuration that in turn is capable of taking on various forms.
Drawing inspiration from his time as an architect, Bitoni’s favorite part of any building is where it meets the ground; be it floating above the ground or part of the earth. This shoe collection seeks to explores this relationship between an object and its environment, whilst spiraling a new wave of design in the fashion industry.
