The Sepiida shoe is a sister design to the Evolve shoe, with Assa’s design inspiration taken from the internal shell of the cuttlefish. The Sepiida shoe has an Evolve rubber-like midsole that fits snuggly inside the “shoe-sock” which allows the Sepiida midsole to mimic the feeling of buoyancy. The upper sock-like section of the design was printed directly on textile using the Stratasys 3DFashion™ technology which allowed for greater control over visual effects and material properties such as aerodynamic stretchability and durability.
