Opera on Brainwaves

On December 12, 2022, the 'Opera on Brainwaves' world premiere took place in Antwerp, the international tech hub and fashion city and home to the multidisciplinary artist Jasna Rokegem, fashion tech icon and Elise Caluwaerts, the well-known soprano who joined hands for this unique experience. Together, they showed what the future could look like: a world in which everyone has the right to emotional well-being in a more harmonious society. Opera on Brainwaves is an artistic performance at the intersection of fashion, technology, science and opera that makes us aware not only of our own emotions, but also of their power to influence others and how connected we are with each other. This emotional technological spectacle took place in a very appropriate location, the exceptional Port House designed by groundbreaking architect Zaha Hadid.

During this interactive opera performance, Elise wore a high-tech dress, a unique creation designed by Jasna Rok Lab and 3D printed direct to textile using Stratasys 3DFashion technology, which made the singer's emotions visible to the audience in real time, for the first time ever.
