Arantza Vilas
Arantza Vilas is a highly skilled textile artist, designer, and researcher who operates an interdisciplinary studio practice while producing textiles for clients. Her passion for material investigation is reflected in her unique work that spans across different contexts and disciplines. Her continuous exploration of concepts of time is deeply ingrained in her creative process. Vilas takes an interest in sustainable innovative tools and methods that can provoke reflection, innovation, and a narrative sense.
Mary Queen of Scots and HBO's Game of Thrones costume designers have collaborated with Vilas, among other high-profile film and TV productions. Her work has also been exhibited in renowned galleries and museums, including MART (Italy), Santiago City of Culture (Spain), and Galería Factoría (Cuba). Vilas is, at present, affiliated with esteemed research groups such as the Wearable Computing team at UdK, Berlin, and the Bio-Inspired Textiles Research Group at UAL, UK.
